03. Mammoth Lakes

What was simply a last minute decision to drive seven hours to the middle of nowhere became one of the best trip’s and view’s I have ever seen. Mammoth lakes is a town located just off of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.

We stayed for two nights but only had one goal in mind. The goal was simple, to get a good night’s sleep the day we drove there, and the next day hike 13 miles (out and back) to Lake Dorothy, the third lake up from Convict Lake. The total hike ended up taking just over five hours, 3,000 feet of elevation, and a lot of energy bars.

10/10 would do again.
